File
In DottedSign, various file types are processed and generated during the electronic signature workflow.
File Type | Description |
---|---|
original | The original task file, which is the document the signers see after a task is successfully sent out, typically a PDF file uploaded by the task owner. |
completed | The completed task file, which is created upon task completion. It includes all fields filled in by the signers and is secured with DottedSign's digital signature. |
audit_trail | The audit trail, which is the document recording all signer activities during the task's progression. Created when a task is completed, declined, or voided, it includes details like timestamps, device used, and IP address, and is secured with DottedSign's digital signature. |
attachment | The merged attachment file, which is compiled by the system upon task completion. It consolidates all signer-uploaded attachments into one PDF file, secured with DottedSign's digital signature. |
attachment_compressed | The compressed attachment file, which is a zip file created upon task completion. It contains the merged attachment and all individual attachments uploaded by the signers. |
source_file | The files before they are merged to form the original task file. These may include raw PDF files before signing (if the task is not yet completed) or files that contain DottedSign’s digital signature. |
